It very well could be, usually torque tubes give some warning & don't start making noise all of a sudden.....did the noise just start?

I got the car from an auction and I fixed it up, this is the last thing, but I wanted some confirmation before I pay another workshop

If you have checked everything else out. I'd be looking at the TT.

Try and obtain a mechanics stethoscope and listen to various areas on the TT.

A decent primer re TTs.
Whatever's making sound IDK, doesn't sound good tho'.

Were it a TT going south, IMO, be a good thing vs. motor. et al
When diagnosed, post an update.
