I was, maybe still am, but my excitement has dwindled. The lack of a true configurator from GM and no press cars out there getting reviews and I'm just kinda "ehh" about it now. There are too many options I want that are locked behind packages that contain options that I DON'T want. Using the make shift configurator that is online I was quickly up to $130k so since I'm in used Z06 territory at that point, the GS is out of the question. Maybe seeing some in person and getting to hear the engine might change my mind. I'm also struggling with the idea of giving up my M7 because I know I'll never get it back.
How many of us say "man my first car was amazing! Wish I never sold it."
Not a chance owned a blue c8 and went back to a carbon 65 c7
I imagine there's a cool story behind this? Maybe you already told us in a previous thread before I was here? I bought my C7 from my Dad a few months ago and he mentioned a few people in this forum went from a C7 to C8 and back again. .
The last post I just read in the C8 Grand Sport forum the guy was estimating to pay $115k which is MSRP. He's at status 3000 and doesn't know the price. I just don't get it. I never will.
I was interested in a GSX until i figured out it would probably be a couple of years after release before the ADM went away. To me that worked out to a wait of 3 - 4 years from today. That would make me 86 and that might be pushing my capabilities a bit. However, I must admit I was pretty enthralled with the 4-wheel drive, battery augmented performance in the GSX and that led me to decided to move now and pick up an E-Ray. (I have a bad left leg and my days of driving manuals is over so that is not a consideration for me). Long story short, I am picking up a 2026 E-Ray - at $15k discount - next week. I liked my 2019 GS but I am sure I will like the E-Ray also.

The dangers of options.
Keep the car low 2LT and be happy. You start adding ridiculous items you start getting into crazy money (what Chevy hopes for).
I was FORCED into a bare bones E-Ray because the dealer had 2 and i wanted out of my Z06 before the nottom fell out whichit did in a couple weeks after the trade. I counted my blessings. 1 E-Ray was a hideous color combo to me and 1LZ. my black only option back wheel car. I thought I'd be miserable in a 1LZ (always bought 3LZ cars) but I sat in it and said to myself not bad. Turned stereo up? Plenty loud. Why not try it? Having done this I have to say looking at all those who went into the 120s and 130s with this car got hosed (Z06s as well but those are into the 150s 160s!) For as much as I use the car I never miss the "amenities" I had before. All I want is the car and the HUD. Thats why for a GS base car you need 2LT. Idk HUD isn't standard? Blind spot and rear cross traffic homelink should all be standard on a base corvette.
If you buy a 2LT GS it'll be what? Mid high 90s msrp? Thats loaded stingray territory for a way nicer looking and equipped next level up car.
Hopefully they start discounting them by end of 27 as hype wears down.
2019 GS 2LT M7 vert here and I don't care what GM produces anymore. I so enjoy rowing the gears and never drive without the Rev Match on. I will give up this amazing car when 1) my left leg gives out, or 2) when it is pried from my cold, dead hands!
Thanks for the great timing of this thread. I loved my C7 GSCE but it was a constant battle with wanting a new car. Though I didn't love the C8 and was on and off several lists. I finally pulled the trigger in 23. It was fine but didn't care for the interior and way more tech than this old guy needed. Then jumped to a 26 for the new interior (never a fan of the wall of buttons), beautiful. I was enjoying the car but I still missed that long hood and raised fenders. Since gray was back I tried to make it similar to the 17 only brand new. Though still a C8, that after 2 of them I still am not a huge fan. I always said that if they made a new C7 today I would jump on it. Then I thought I should look at some. I found a 1 owner in great condition with 2,000 miles. So against my mine saying "why are you selling a 26 to get a 17". I went Back to the Future and pulled the trigger. They're picking up my car today and shipping me my brand new 2017 Grand Sport Collector's Edition this week.
