I've seen where some owners have added insulation in the trunk to alleviate the heat problem. They remove the back wall of the trunk and install the insulation between the engine compartment and the trunk. Does it work?

A buddy of mine with a C8 added one of those quilted liners to the inside of his and says it helps.
We were talking to another guy who added the stick-on heat shielding to the wall of his, facing the engine and says it helps.
I would imagine anything you do would help some, but I doubt it would ever make it a place to carry anything perishable.
I put some reflective material on mine while I was changing the air filter. It may have helped but I didn't measure it. The main problem is heat soak. Even if it keeps it cooler when driving the trunk still gets hot when parked for a while after driving. When I go on road trips I remove things from the trunk as soon as I get to the hotel.
Just don't put anything heat sensitive in the trunk and added heat shielding is not necessary. Luggage kept in the trunk for hours long rides will get warm, but not hot. IMO, it is not an issue.

You will find a plethora of information on this. Youtube is a great source for installation advice.
I read as much as was available at the time.
As mentioned opinions vary, but what I found:
1. Coupes are vented differently from HTC’s. Coupe trunks get warmer.
2. Center exhaust mods will cause the trunk to get warmer
3. Insulating material matters. Don’t cheap out.
4. All the trunks do get warm.
I bought Truck heat insulation and I live in SW Florida where it's always hot it did drop the temps down 10 to 15 degrees. I still wouldn't put ics cream in there but it's better than it was. Just saying.
