Hello
I am looking at a 67 roadster Matching # L79 the tach has a 5500 redline not sure of the oil pressure gauge .I thought 67 L79 had 6000 redline ? Wondering if this is a sign of a restamp or 300hp dressed like a L79 .I have looked at the stamp myself but it was rusty and im not an expert .Any info on this ?
What does the engine pad stamp say?? For a factory 350 HP car, the engine build suffix should be HP or HT or HD or KH. The latter two suffix codes are for California A.I.R. cars. They are not often seen due to low production.

EDIT: Just for your info, both 300 and 350 HP cars had same 0-60 psi oil pressure gage and same oil pump. Also, a true 350 HP engine will not idle very well if at all at 500 RPM. A 300 HP engine will.
L78 - The HT does indicate an L79, if it's a factory stamp. Does it look like someone has been working/restoring this 67?
It's not the easiest thing to do but with a mirror, try to take a pic if the white sticker with the large Red Lettes on the back cover of the instrument cluster.
Since they are typically on the outboard side of the cluster towards the bottom, you should be able to get a pic of it.
For 65-66-67s, the base engines used a sticker that read LA. For L79s, the sticker should show LC.
Here's a pic of the LB sticker from my 66 L72 for reference. That tach face with the 5300 Redline would be found on LA instrument clusters normally, unless someone changed out the tach face along the way.
Good luck,
