Have a C8 2LT which I ordered new. It has 11,000 easy miles, no track.. Thinking of upgrading soon. Have found some good deals on 2025 Erays. I know in essence they are being dropped, but a newer version is coming in the new Gran Sport edition. 1. Will an Eray please me as much as the Stingray did. How does it differ from its cousin? I could do his deal easily now, or is it advisable to wait for the new Gran Sport?
Thanks,
Tom
I had a Stingray and now an Eray. The Eray is a big step up. I do plan to get a GSX as soon as I can. The GSX will be MSRP of course, where you can get a used Eray for around 30k off MSRP. You could also get a new Eray from a dealer at a discount if you can find one.
I love my E-Ray, but the Stingrays are also great cars. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I bought my E-Ray because I got a big discount so I figured I got a lot for my money.
I. Had my Stingray for 4 years and is a great start on the mid engine platform from GM, with that I am happy I got my ERay last summer and have not looked back. My track days are behind me and for a touring Vette the ERay is really awesome. When cruising around is pretty much like a stingray and then when you hit the go pedal even at 80ish in 8th the electric motor has instant tq as your C8 downshifts to get the 6.2l going in the power band and at low speeds or launches is really a blast.
You might find a few 2025 Eray's still for sale around and with the 2027's coming out , you might get even more money off of them. The main reason I chose the Eray was the ability to have AWD, carbon ceramic brakes, wide body, and instantaneous torque. Launches in this thing is brutal.
I would personally try to find a 2026 for the interior refresh. The eRay is generally a step up but hard to say for sure without looking at the specific configs. Just make sure the eRay fits where you park.
I just got my 2024 C8 HTC with 1300 miles. I was shopping a 2024 Eray HTC with 14000 miles as well. I never buy new I like garage queens. Since this is my first C8 I stayed with the base. My C7 was paid for so I didn't want to spend $13K more for .5 seconds 0 to 60 right now. But an Eray is still on my bucket list.
Have had my E-Ray for 27 months, best by a bunch over my prior 6 Vettes including my 2020 C8 Z51. It's like driving a Big Block when leaving a Stop Sign or making a turn when you use the loud pedal. Drives like my 2020 C8 Z51 when just cruising. Comfortable ride. BUT the biggest difference for me is as a DD (as were all my Vettes) I drive it more! I drive even when heavy summer thunderstorms are predicted (where I would use my wife's AWD SUV with pior Vettes.) With my other Vettes, particularly my 2017 Grand Sport with only RWD and 335's it was NO fun in wet weather. The E-Ray with AWD is super when wet, every in heavy rain. Feels very confident, no tail sliding out on a fast turn!
I'll get a 2027 GSX BUT you will never get the deal like you can get now if you find a new one you like new at a Dealer. For me, who gets a new Vette every 3 to 4 years the 721 hp is a Plus. BUT E-Ray has enough power to a big smile on your face when you use launch control (and just normal driving!)
Upgrading to a 27 is tempting for anyone given the LS6 and updated rear gear ratio

A used E-Ray is most likely going to be less than any non 1LT (which doesnt come with HUD or CCBs) grand sport. Not to mention be inferior in terms of actual performance sans some long road course after several laps.

Yeah. The Z will have 721hp. And destroy everything sans rhe ZR1X from a dig from a standstill. Can't wait to see if it can pull a 10.1 at 135mph? Wish Chevy would publish the oem stats!
