I’m replacing the center caps on my wheels for my 82 Corvette. Does anyone know if have to take the wheel off to Install the center cap or does it just fit onto the center wheel hub without taking the wheel off?
No need to remove the tire. The cap just pops on and stays in place with a friction fit. If you buy new caps you'll see the tab design and get an idea of how the cap will install.
Before installing your new caps, clean the mounting surface of the wheel and run a small bead of silicone sealant on the surface of the wheel to help keep your new caps in place.
