Guys, Right when I thought I was done making build decisions I came across another option that seems like a pretty big decision as far as aesthetics go. So I have my build narrowed down to Sebring Orange, HTC, full silver stripes, Sky Cool Grey Interior. On the 26’ GM Configurator I came across the option of Carbon Flash painted nacelle’s and body - color roof - convertible hardtop. Obviously it’s all personal preference but curious if there’s one way or another that’s more popular? Carbon Flash painted nacelle’s or Body color Nacelles? Pics appreciated. Thanks guys.

 

Personally, I really like the Sebring HTC with black roof and nacelles….and I would add carbon flash sideview mirrors…..I have seen this configuration in person and it is sick…in a good way

 

I have it on my 21 HTC and my 27 GS HTC will also have the Carbon Flash Roof/Nacelles. I personally love the two-tone look it gives the HTC. There is also a separate option that adds Carbon Flash Mirrors that's only like $200 more that pairs very well with the Carbon Flash roof.

That said, the one thing that would give me pause with your build is the full length stripes. I did a lot of playing with the configurator and different stripe options for my build, and to me, it made the cars look weird if you add another color into the mix with stripes. (i.e. main car color + Carbon Flash roof + a third stripe color). It just comes out looking a bit too busy for my taste. That might just be me, though, but something to consider!

 

Not sure which is more popular.
My HTC, and my vote agree w/ ahal.. above, carbon flash nacelles, roof, and mirrors.

Any light colored HTC looks better with the black roof and nacelles. I also like a black wing! IMO

The carbon flash breaks up the car, it’s a personal preference. I personally like the look of the HTC without them, it makes the car have a touring appearance.

Carbon Flash roof and nacelles is a VERY popular HTC option. From what I have seen, most HTC buyers seem to get both. Some get neither, and fewer seem to get the nacelles only. But as you said, it really comes down to personal preference.

I think the Carbon Flash roof and nacelles look great with most colors, especially brighter colors where the black provides strong contrast. I do not think it works quite as well on some darker colors because the contrast is much less noticeable.

For example, I generally like the option, but I did not get the Carbon Flash roof or nacelles on my Hysteria Purple HTC. I felt there was not enough contrast with such a dark color, and I also wanted to showcase the body color itself. That said, plenty of people still choose both options even on Hysteria Purple. After living with the car for a few weeks, I do not regret my choice.

On Sebring Orange, I think the added black would be a plus. Personally, I think both the roof and nacelles would look good. Nacelles only could also work, but I would probably lean toward doing both on that color. I assume you also chose the Carbon Flash painted mirrors/spoiler?

There really is no right or wrong answer. It depends on the look you want.

The one thing I would think more carefully about is the silver stripes on orange. I am personally not big on stripes, and they are vinyl/decal graphics anyway. I tend to avoid putting decals on the car, but others really like the look. My thinking was that I could always add stripes later if I changed my mind, so I did not feel the need to order them from the factory. Since they are decals, I would also assume they can be removed later, but I would rather start without them unless I was sure I wanted that look.

I have a 2024 HTC in Hypersonic Gray with the Sterling Silver stripe OEM package, and Sky Cool interior. I do like the black nacelles on the HTC, but to me, I would go one or the other but not both... Here is what the back of my car looks like. Having the black AND the stripes would just be too much, IMHO. But it's your car, so order it like you want it.

I like stripes when done right but I do agree, one or the other, carbon flash nacelles and roof or stripes but not both on a HTC….

 

body color roof/nacelles is too much of the same color unless you have stripes. i think stripes (and all other stick on junk) on a vette is tacky so i have the carbon flash roof/nacelles option.

I like the carbon nacelles and roof, but find it odd looking when only the nacelles are black and the a pillars and roof are body colored. Of course, with the top down, it's the same look (other than the A pillars); but with the top up, it looks unfinished to me.

I say go all body colored with the stripes, or do the roof and nacelles black .. but not just the nacelles.

This would be my choice. Looks great with the orange.

 

Just curious as to what you consider "done right" looks like in your eyes? I'm really on the fence on this one. Do I love the way Sebring Orange looks with Carbon flash nacelle's, roof & mirrors? Absouletly. Just very sleek, clean and classy. I also really like Sebring with full silver stripes and body color on nacelle's, roof & mirrors. Yes, I'm aware they stripes are decals. Doesn't bother me. I just happen to think it's a cool sporty look with full silver stripes. Not for everyone, I get it.

 

I love the two tone HTC look and I also like full stripes. My Vette is a subtle THREE tone vehicle. Red Mist with carbon flash nacelles and roof plus stripes of matching carbon flash with a thin 3/16” gold pinstripe border on them. What I like is the most is the black stripes on the black rooftop reveal only the gold borders. The gold borders also match the darkish gold calipers and 1/8” pinstripes on the front’s lower black pieces and on the carbon flash rocker covers as well as the side mirrors to divide the borders between red and black and a hint of it on the BBD (big black diffuser) to add some highlights on the curves.

Some might say it’s too much but it’s how I like it. My take is to do however you like it.
