Default popping and creeky top issue again

This is the most annoying problem in my 08 coupe. I greased the latch mechanism and the noise went away for months and now it's back so I do the same thing as before and it won't go away. The noise is on the drivers side latch so it's right in my face and it pisses me off that I can't stop it. The car is perfect except for this annoying problem.

Did you try the e-clips also. here is a thread on it.

I did that on mine years ago and fixed my issue.

I think I will try the extra O ring first to see if that stops it. Thanks.!

Remove the top and spray silicone lubricant on the rubber seal front & back. This should quiet things down.

Done all that and greased the roller in the latch and nothing works, it's a defective design that Chevy changed.

Just think of it as periodic maintenence.
I change the orings and lubricate it when I condition my weatherstripping.

Done all that, it's in the latch mechanism.

Not trying to be an a$$, but are you saying that the o-rings that you said fixed it on May 11, are no longer working and the noise is back on May 18?

I just replaced the o rings on the front posts with a slightly larger size and that has solved the problem so far.

I just installed the o-rings from Melrose Top Company a couple weeks ago. The new o-rings were slightly thicker than the stock rings... So the thicker o-rings seem to be working for me too.
Added new grease to all the spots recommended in the forum threads regarding targa top maintenance. Cleaned and wiped all the weather stripping with grease.

I doubled the O rings today ( 2 on each side) and lubed again and all quiet now same spot as your problem.

The top was creaky on my previous 07 when I bought it. I greased everything but found it was still noisy at the rear. I tightened up the clamp a little and it never made another peep.
