After multiple rebuilds and hours of adjustments, i've come to the conclusion that it's time to replace my 50+ year old carb. I'm looking for something that will easily replace the Holley list 6239 that came with the car.

Anyone have thoughts on this carb or a better suggestion?
Ironic, I just replaced a Holley 3310-1, 780 CFM VS , with that carburetor, it was about 52 years old. Having a lot of difficulty dealing with the 4 corner idle adjustment. I get rpm drop on all 4 corners and then back out but exhaust really stinks. If your car is matching numbers have the original professionally rebuilt.
I don;t know if you know of Advanced Engine DesignPerformance near Richmond Virginia. These guys will build you a brand new blueprinted and tested Holley Carburetor and get it set up for your exact engine before shipping it to you.
The start with raw Holley castings and machine them in-house. You might almost say that the products are blueprinted and built to a higher standard than the typical Holley. Then they build the best Holley carburetor out there, in my opinion of course. They built me a custom 850 HO carburetor for my L88's 427 Clone. It was the same price as the new Holley carburetors but they perform so much better. I spent over an hour with an employee who asked a million questions regarding my cam, heads and any modifications done to the engine. Then three weeks later a beautiful new Holley 850 showed up at my home. I bolted it on and it was perfect, they had it set perfectly and I didn't even have to re-jet the carburetor.
AED is a reputable Company with many years of experience building all sorts of carburetors. Many of the race shops sell them around here. Take a peek at their website and decide for yourself. They take a good product and make it Great. I strongly recommend AED to you for your new carburetor.

Send it to Custom rebuild carbs for a correct rebuild
This carb has been rebuilt several times over it's life. Not sure it's worth dumping any more into it - i can put it in a box for the next owner. I just want a carb that will run well all the time....

Forgot about them, I had an AED 850 double pumper that came on a crate engine I put in another car - it was a great carb only took it off to switch to fuel injection.
Previous owner (unknown date and ability), me (i know what I'm doing, been at it for 50 years), restored by a reputable carb company.....Over the course of 50+ years, things wear and warp and flex in ways that a rebuild cannot fix.
This is not the original carb, it's a 75 dated service replacement. Runs OK, but I had repeated issues with leaks, the throttle shafts have been bushed, the fuel inlets had to be helicoiled. As much as i would like to keep it close to original, a new AED carb sounds like a better place to be.
I also highly recommend AED! I have a 1971 LT1 and am installing one on my new engine. They have an extremely comprehensive questionnaire including just about everything about your engine and drive train and with that information recommend a carb that is specifically suited for your car. David Vizard recommended them over 15 years ago. I highly recommend that you give them a call at least to learn about your options. One of the benefits is that it will arrive already set up for your exact engine and you shouldn't have to do anything but install it and go.
I have a Quick Fuel 850 cfm on my big block but mine has manual secondaries and no choke.
It’s an awesome carb and I’ve run them on other builds without any issues.
I like that the metering blocks and base plate are billet and not cast aluminum.
