Squeaking Rear Brakes
I have an 82 corvette with a rear drivers side brake that i cant seem to get to stop squeaking. Rotor was replaced with new rotor and cleaned with brake cleaner to take off film that they come with when brand new. Brake pads are almost new and the surface were roughed up with sand paper when put back on. All areas that come in contact with each other that can cause squeaking was greased with brake grease and still have squeaking. Squeaks when pressing the brakes so it isnt the emergency brakes making contact on the inside of rotor. The issue is that it doesnt squeak everytime the brakes are pressed, but it does happen more than half the time. I have never dealt with anything like this and ive been working on cars for years. These corvettes are finicky as hell man i swear. I completely rebuilt a 61 impala bubbletop frame off restoration that has never given me the issues this car gives me. Im out of ideas of what it could be? Should the next step be to replace the brake pads?

No i sure didnt. Never have had to in the past on any of my other cars, i would just put new rotors on without any issues. It didnt occur to me but makes sense. I will certainly check that out. Would you happen to know what would be acceptable and what would be considered out of tolerance?
