Default LS3 dry sump convertion ?

Hello!
my LS3 setup has an oilpan of the LS7 I think, internal pump installed.
as I found out the two connectors on the pan are without any direction, just connecting to the oil reservoir?
so it is pressure less? that means the oil is just an outside reservoir to hold the level ?
that would further mean, the tank must be placed, that the engine gets oil and not overfilles? level inside tank = level inside engine?
Thanks in advance!

demounted the screw connector on the pan, there are channels, not only a stupid connection to the pan. I think they are connected to the pump.
which one will suck and press ?
now, can I mount the reservoir anywhere? I do have a Aviad tank to it, input up, output down.

channels going to the front

OK, found
both connections go to the pump. Which one should be connected to the reservoir up and down?
is it neccessary to mount the reservoir on a certain hight to the engine?

you seem to have answered your own questions, but does this engine have the dry-sump crankshaft and pump installed or just the wrong pan?
