For people doing their own ceramic coating what are you using for a DIY Ceramic Coating? I was using Meguires M888 Beyond Ceramic Coating and really liked it. However, I'm having a hard time finding it now from a reputable supplier including Mequires website. So, I'm looking to move on with something new. Something that is user friendly and very forgiving to apply with an average life span for ceramic coatings. I need to do another one of my vehicles and one of my neighbors vehicles and want to be sure I can apply it without any issues, especially on my neighbor's car.
Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating ( Advanced). The hand applied 60ml bottle..... not the spray type. I've used it on our current Eray and previously used the earlier version, on our 2020 C8, which just didn't say "Advanced". After 5 years, it still performed like it was just applied. I also used that same product on 3 different daily driver vehicles we've had over the past 6 or 7 years. Follow the instructions, or watch their videos and it's EASY on and EASY off. I've put it on all the painted surfaces, glass, plastic trim, wheels, etc.... just not on the tires.....
They have a UV tracer in the product, so if you have a UV flashlight, as I bought from Adams the first time I bought their kit and flashlight, it easily allows you to see any spots you missed. Very handy for front bumper and grills as well as rear bumper and vents, wheels, etc.
I always buy it as their "Kit" which comes with applicator pads, super microfiber wiping cloths, and some microfiber towels, a spray bottle of prep fluid, and a spray bottle of Boost which you can use a year or so later.
My first use was Meguiars's Spray on Rinse Off. Easy, fast, and cheap. You wash your car as normal. The first application you then spray in on and wipe it off, then spray it on again (don't dry the car) and rinse if off with a hose. Dry the car and you're done.. Subsequent applications you wash the car, spray it on, hose it off, dry the car. It holds up well to weather, beads very nicely and lasts 4 to 6 months easily. Used it for years on my DD and was quite satisfied.
Next up came Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax. Wash and dry the car, Spray on Wipe off, buff. done. Easy, Lasts about the same as Meguiar's.
This was done on other cars, With the C8 I had Adam's Advance Graphene professionally applied. My detalier mentioned that he normally used "The Last Coat" which I started using on my DD, then after a time I used Adams Advanced Graphene Spray on. I like it because you can use the UV light to determine covered vs non covered areas.
I still use The Last Coat tho it's getting harder to obtain.
My 2¢
I think I need to add that the cars are parked outside in the PNW. The C8 sits in a carport, but the pollen still gets blown all over it. At least it's protected from the sun and rain, but that's it.
Geyon MOHS and topped with Geyon Can Coat, not on my Vette, but on wife’s Nautilus and at 2 years I have not even redone the topper again and still does not need redone and yes garage kept like most of us with Vettes.
I think I used a Meguries Ceramic product when I first got the car. I applied with a orbital tool designed specifically for cars. Even though it only took a few hours while listening to the ball game, I really don't enjoy the work.
So now, I just use a ceramic based soap to wash the car, and a 3 in 1 Ceramic Detailer Spay from Turtle Wax on occasion.
Adams Graphine Ceramic is a nice product. You can use ultraviolet light to see what has been covered during your install process. Pretty strange at first, but you can't see these properties in any other setting that I noticed.
