Saving custom tune on a DiabloSport?

Saving custom tune on a DiabloSport?
I recently had a custom tune done on my C5 using HP tuners. For CA smog tuning is very 'touchy' and I'm nervous for the future.
I have an unmarried CARB legal DiabloSport 8200 in a drawer. It's my understanding that the Diablo will download a car's existing tune and 'swap' it with their on board tuning programs.
Would anything stop me from using with Diablo to save the custom tune on the car, and swap in the CARB legal tune, than swap back later?
I know there are other solutions, but I like to idea of being able to manage this myself.

Heh, that won't help you, because the CVN checksums and calibration ID's got changed already by hptuners...
California checks ECM programming to compare checksum numbers and CVN calibration ID numbers as part of the smog check out there... and if they don't match the original factory stock programming info, you fail your smog check...
