Default ''65 front coil springs, what's the top or bottom? Pictures.

Both springs have a notch at one end. When I took it apart it had the notch to the top on one side and to the bottom on the other side. The car sat level. Which way do they go in? Does it matter? To me it looks like all the coils are evenly spaced.

You don't mention your suspension or options. Standard suspension front coil spring p/n for small block is #3851100, shown on green tag with "ED" code. 1110 is ~17" free height & progressive wound - not equal spaces between coil like your example. OEM spring is installed with notch "down" & smaller coil spacing segment "up".

Stock 327 car, the springs were in it when I got the car 20 years ago. Still sits at stock height, rides nice. I'll put the notches to the bottom
thanks
