This is the most reliable C2 I’ve owned. Connected the battery, gave it two 15 second cranks, and on the third it popped a couple times. Next turn of the key she roared to life. Nothing like the sound of a big block, mechanical lifter cam through side pipes! Ran a bit rough for a minute or two and I backed her out of the garage. You can see she is dusty. The mobile detailer should be here in about an hour and she will sparkle better than new!
My recent sale fell through given some questions on the engine stamp. Seems when the engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago it was decked and needed to be restamped. Damn, but it was restamped using the NCRS approved gang stamp and could still achieve a top flight. Not something I’m interested in, but I’m confident with a minimal investment the next owner could easily achieve that prize. Anyway, after the detail I’m snapping pictures and she’s going on BaT.
The registration date sticker says it all! Here is the questionable engine stamp pad. The block date, tranny stamp, and differential stamp all line up.
Yes........ hearing and feeling a solid lifter big block rumble to life through the side pipes after a long absence is a treat for sure..... most of us do not have daily drivers that have that same impact...... you get in, push a button, and you are on your way....... fire up a big block, as you describe, and it is an event.......
