Replacing leaking gas tank on 2004. The tank I purchased is clean and looks nice. I have a concern with a small hole at the top. Is there a problem? Can I hot weld it or seal it with a gas resistant sealant? Not sure it leaks. No staining on tank.
There is a 2 part product produced for aviation fuel tanks. I used some once on a race car bladder and it worked well. Check an aviation parts place like Aircraft Spruce. I don't think it is meant for large areas.

For anyone who has not handled one of our tanks, they are very thick multi-layered plastic. So either that is a surface imperfection and no leak, or a fairly serious impact has occurred which would make me question it's use. If this is at the top and all else is without issue then I concur with chasing the aircraft repair which I have also looked up and saved once before.... The actual product.... But for the life of me I cannot find it currently. One to ask would be @Mr. Black for this specialty.
Other than that.... EFF the 03/04 tanks.... If I had to repair or replace one I'd gut the whole system and convert to the prior style and hose routing. 97/98 was one setup. 99 was it's own thing. 00 to early 03 was another. All of those are still the low mount pump and hat etc, just slight differences in crossover tubes which does not matter. More of a quiz detail than an impactful fact.
