Quick Jack is having a Memorial Day sale (starts Friday) with 15% off. For a C1 it looks like the 6000TL is the correct model. For those that have used these, how do you like them? Are they worth the investment?
I bought the 7000 model for my C3 and my Car was too low. Mufflers scraped when driving over it. I had to sell it and go with a four post. You should be fine with a C1 or C2
I have the 3500 model and it works great for my 67. As others do, I store it folded under my 67. The 6000 model will weigh a lot more, which will be OK to move around if your garage floor is smooth.
Works great. I keep it stored on the floor and connected. Drive the 61 over it. Hydraulics, motor on a small dolly, added wheels the lift so it is easy to slide around. Use it for the 63 with side pipes and 61. If you buy the older model with the cap that needs to be open when in use, make sure it is open! Otherwise the fluid reservoir will collapse.

Uhhhhh, you're specifically told not to drive over these in the directions. Push them in from the side.
I have never owned or used one of these quick jacks, but I would think, not having access to the center of the car from the side, would severely limit its usefulness.

I get what you are saying but it's never been an issue for me. Unless you need to service the rocker for resto work.....
It does get up high enough to pull a tranny or even a torque tube - not that I'd want to do it, even with a 2 post lift. More than adequate for exhaust work, pulling wheels, doing suspension work, etc.

I've not had the reason to use my Quick Jack in this way, but if I did, I would use the Quick Jack to raise the car up then put blocks underneath the wheels and set it down on those blocks and remove the Quick Jack and work on the rocker and frame in that area.
Hey there ... not wanting to hijack the thread, but, I do have a question that you. or one of your readers, might answer. I have a C1 (1959) and I think the Quick Jacks look pretty slick. We also have a 2016 Camaro 2SS and a 2013 Toyota 4Runner (the GMC trucks dont matter for this thread). So, I want to buy the largest Quick Jacks that will work under my C1. I believe the 8000TLX will work, but, I am wondering if anyone has experience with this set-up under a C1. I've read the specs and I've measured the lift points ... just looking for some first-hand experience. Thank you!

I'm no help for your cars, but I use my Quick Jack for my C2, my C6, my Lexus RX350, my Toyota RAV4, and a Mazda CX9.
Good thread. After looking at the photos and reading the comments here, for a measly 24" lift and limited access to the mid-underneath area of the car, I'll save a few thousand bucks and continue to just use a hydraulic jack and jack stands. A two or four post lift seems like a much better choice.

Kevin,
Don't ever attempt to do this with your Quick Jack. Attempting to remove the jack without the weight of the car pushing the jack down will result in the jack locking in position about halfway down. The Quick Jack requires the weight of the car to push the jack down...gravity won't do it. I'm sure that's mentioned somewhere in the directions.

Appreciate the heads up, Leif, however, my Quick Jack will lower all the way to the flat and stowed position with no weight on it at all other than the weight of the Quick Jack itself. It's much slower than when loaded, like, say, with the car loading it, but will collapse completely into the lowering position by itself.

Kevin,
I re-read the instructions after reading your reply. I slightly mis-informed you (and, others reading this post). Here is what Quick Jack says about unloading weight from the extended jack:
QuickJack specifically warns that the frames can become stuck fully extendedwhen unloaded.

I have the 5000 which it appears has been replaced by the 6000. I absolutely love it. It'd be nice if it were a 36" lift, but 24" is enough for me to do almost anything. It fits under my C2, which is significantly lower than stock ride height, as well as my other low sitting cars, including my GT3. It's so much better than jack stands, because the entire car can be lowered and raised again in a minute. You can't slide under the car from the sides but you can access everything from front or rear. I store them off to the side in my garage. They're easy to maneuver and to hook up to the hydraulic pump. I have left cars on the QuickJack for weeks at a time while building them. Lower the car and pull the jacks out to the sides and you're test driving in 2 minutes. Return from the drive and you're back up, all wheels off the ground, 2 minutes later. A real lift might be better, but with the QuickJack you finish your work and hang them on a wall or somewhere else out of the way, leaving no posts in your garage for someone to drive into.
