My current ZR1 does not have ZTK. I settled for the non ZTK package but really want the ZTK package for the track. My local dealer will sell the ZR1 at MSRP without the ZTK and Aero package but wants 50K over on all ZTKs.
I feel the ZTK will hold some resale value down the road. your thoughts?
Also production numbers still remain low for ZR1s and Zr1X. Anyone have production numbers? cannot find anything online that's been updated.
Guys living the Fantasy with the Z06/Z07 pacakage that NEVER raced their cars created the Z07 hype and the same people that DON'T track their cars are hyping the ZTK for the ZR1...unless you're tracking the car it's a complete waste of money and as for resale.....who cares, when I buy a car I buy it for myself EXACTLY the way I want it...this is kinda like the guy that wants to keep low miles on his car for resale...the simple analogy here is he's just like the guy that won't be intimate on a regular basis with his woman saving her for the next guy...bwahahahaha!
As for Production numbers, 1482/252 ZR1/ZR1X built as of yesterday!
According to C8 Tracker as of 5/22/2026
Total ZR1's Built 1,432
Total with ZTK Built 426
As for resale value of a true ZTK optioned ZR1... This can really be a subjective opinion until real statistics prove otherwise!
I'd have to say the ALCON brakes offer some strong appeal and could fetch you a higher resale value.
However, if you're going to track the car on a regular basis, it could raise concers when it comes to resale value. This might not matter as much if you PPF the car and completely replace those expensive ALCON brakes and add a fresh set of those expensive Cup 2R tires. Respectfully - But then again, you seem to be concerned with value? It all depends on where you want to put your money (and how much)?
I don't know. I stopped specing a car "for the next guy" years ago. I also use to agonize over driving my Corvette in the rain because of the potential reduction of resale value in the future. Somewhat amusing looking back at that. I can't do that anymore. Life's too short. I think you should buy the car you want and not be swayed by some potential increase in resale value in the future that may or may not ever come. For what it's worth I just got a non ZTK with carbon aero. It was a conscious choice not a "just settled for" decision. Car is awesome. If I had to do it again I would not change a thing.
May not apply to the C8s but on BaT C7 ZR1s with 7-speed manual go for $60-$80K more than with the 8-speed auto and ZTK option adds maybe $15-20K. The C8 Alcons will likely be desirable in resale by a good amount.

This is a good post. I have to admit the last C7 ZR1 I had I was guilty of never driving it because I was worried about resale value due to milage and I didn't want the car getting dirty. 3 years later I wish I would have put 10k miles per summer on it.
The answer is 100% yes. Anybody that says otherwise is out of touch with the Vette market. There is nothing wrong with spec’ing a car for long term value. As long as its not a spec you dislike, there is no reason not to.
If you have an allocation for ZTK you would be silly not to spec it. If you are going to seriously track the car, the aero is probably mandatory but ZTK is a nice to have depending on timing. The Alcon brakes would be great but not mandatory in my opinion, most hard core track guys take off the ceramics and put steel brakes on.
Disclosure, I have the big aero on my ZR1, non ZTK, put Cup2R tires on, track alignment and the car is an absolute beast on the track.
My order is in for the ZR1 with the ZTK. I wont buy the car without the Alcon brakes/ZTK suspension. Not that Im buying the car to make money, but if I do ever sell it in the future, the ZTK is going to be more desirable than the ZR1 without it in my opinion. I bought a C7Z without the Z07 package, and I regretted it. My current 2023 Z06/Z07 has everything. MSRP $154K. And I dont regret the purchase one bit. I was offered a ZR1 last week, $50K over, and everything I wanted was on constraint. I had to tell them to send my deposit back and I wont waste your time anymore. Were spending over $200K, get the car exactly how you want and dont let the dealership talk you into something else.

I guess im silly then because I got an allocation and ZTK was literally dead last on my list of options I wanted.

The present ADM's reflect the ineptitude and lack of concern for buyers by GM. The numbers get much smaller for the "X" and all this is disrespecting and robbing true Corvette enthusiasts.
As someone who has owned several Corvettes, and have waited patiently for the ZR1, I have given up and returned to Ferrari, Lamborghini. Porsche, etc. The "hype" over a car with over 1000 hp for street use and the "posers" and influencers who have contributed to outrageous pricing (the cost of an X with the $100,000 ADM) including tax is now over $400,000!!. Don't tell me a C8 that looks like a $60,000 Stingray, is worth anywhere near that, forgetting about TRACK records, where over 90% of the people reading this will never see.
I am in a "fringe" category and won't have much influence on the overall resale market. I am an admitted track addict, and I do buy my cars for the performance options and track ability. With the speed potential of the ZR1, I consider the Alcon brakes a must. GM offered them for a reason. Stopping a 4000# rocket repeatedly from 170+ mph means good brakes are a must, especially if you are going to squeeze the last few tenths of a second off your lap time with late braking to take advantage of the speed you were able to develop. As I have mentioned before, I have turned down three allocations because my dealer has not been able to secure an allocation without the ZTK constraint. The ADMs are still there (unless you are on a long list with a MSRP dealer), especially with the ZTK option, which is irritating. I would consider buying a used ZR1, but only a coupe with ZTK, and preferably a 1LZ with minimal options. So, in my case, ZTK matters, but not because of a perceived increase in value down the road. Love the car - hate GM's roll-out and their apparent lack of appreciation for the old school Corvette faithful.
If you are paying an inflated ADM or waiting 6 months or a year for the ZTK (in my opinion) you are missing the boat. The 2025 ZTK came without the Alcon brakes, they are awesome but not even close to mandatory. The ZR1 stops just fine with “standard” ceramic brakes and the tires are almost always the limiting factor. I have plenty of track time without the Alcon brakes and I would bet the Alcon brakes make almost zero difference in lap times.

Not to sound argumentative, but there is far more to ZTK than the Alcons. The heavier spring rates and the Magride 4.0 software keep the nose from diving under heavy, high speed braking. With soft, non-ZTK springs and resultant nose dive, the rears tires are unloaded somewhat and the ABS pulls rear brake pressure to keep from spinning, resulting in decreased deceleration. Then, there is the thermal efficiency with more uniform pad to rotor contact and better material in the constant woven rotors = no braking degradation in long sessions. The e-diff also has different programming. Just little stuff, but if you are doing more than HPDE it adds up. I have 5 track cars - 2 with CCBs, two with big AP Racing set-ups, and one with a Brembo BBK. I have updated one older analog car with a Bosch stand-alone ABS controlled through the MoTec ECU. Guess you could say I am a brake nut. I don't really need a ZR1, and I find the ADMs to be a real annoyance as a matter of principle, but if I get one it will be equipped the way I want it - for my own reasons.
