Does any one else experience lack of communication regarding the status of a new order?

I can track anything across the globe, yet they can't send you status? They literally track everything throughout the build.
Yes. Same here. If I want an update I have to call my dealer/salesman. I think it just varies by dealer or sales rep. Some people on the forum seem to get regular updates, while some, like you and me, do not.
Tell your salesperson that you expect regular updates (weekly) and that your survey ratings will reflect how well they do.
Yikes... I would never in a million years feel entitled to weekly updates on a car order. I want two updates - when it gets scheduled for build, and when it will get delivered. Anything else is wasting their time and mine.

Some dealers (like MacMulkin) provide a website where you can see a weekly update on your order - track it through the various Order Status Codes. Along the way, you'll see the TPW (Target Production Week) so you'll know when it is scheduled to be built. I expect no less.
