Guess I learn thru idiot-ism. Replace my automatic radio antenna twice. First time when I drove thru a car wash with the radio on, replased thr antenna, 2nd time same car wash, same idiot driving, replaced antenna again. Now turn on the radio, the antenna goes up, but all i get thru the speaker is a very load Buzz. anybody ?
I was wondering when antennae got broken/replaced, is it possible the wire got compromised on the antennae end? I don't think it would have got jiggled loose where it plugs into the back of the radio but you could also check that. Is it possible the replacement antennae could somehow be a dud?
The antenna wasn't busted clean off the fender, just bent at a 90 degree angle, ( I should have known better and turned the radio off, and I was in a hurry or wouldn't have even taken the Drive-Thru-Wash).
The old antenna taken off the flat wire, the nwe one put on and turning on and off the radio, got it back in. So everything that happened, happened right there at the fender mount.. everything works except the CD won't play....but it didn;t before either. Is there a shop I can take her to to fix the CD, dont want to put in an after market, want to keep it as orginal as I am able.
there is a company that will take the OEM radio and make it bluetooth. I think they charge $375. Others have posted their link and spoke highly of them. I think they could also fix your CD. if you had BT option would u even use CD?
Yes, Dr. Don is the man, he did mine and added an aux input to the cassette line and now I have XM radio hidden in the center console and the sound is outstanding!
