I recently ordered a Z06 and the window sticker was just created. Unfortunately I had a sub par experience when ordering the vehicle and final build was never sent or approved by me. In general the car is what I wanted and it was only missing a few minor things. On my window sticker is shows the exposed carbon fiber wheels with red stripe and a separate line for the ceramic brakes totaling $24,500. When I go to the build configuration on chevys website, I can get my build to match my sticker price by individually selecting the options but if I select the carbon fiber brake and wheel package the price comes down $7,000 which is correct based on the price differences between selecting individual and the packages for the same items.
Can anyone confirm I am being charged an additional $7,000 for the same product just because the person at the dealership spec’s the individual pieces and not the packages?
Also to note, I was sent a screen shot of the Chevy workbench website once my order was placed and told it could not be changed that’s stated my car was to receive the J56 breaks which I believe are not the updated carbon ceramic brakes.
It was built yesterday and the window sticker was produced today. Just noticed it was about $7k more than what I expected based on the package not being used and the brakes and wheels being listed separately. Unfortunately I don’t think the guy who does the ordering at the dealership really knows what he is doing or atleast that’s how it seems regarding corvettes.

There is a "package" that has the CF with stripe wheels in it with the ceramic brakes?
I thought the CF wheels were always a separate option.
Yes, RPO PDB:
PDB Carbon Fiber Wheel and Brake Package, includes (J57) carbon ceramic brakes and choice of one of the following wheels set: (ROY) 20" front/21" rear Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber wheels, (ROZ) 20" front/21" rear visible carbon fiber wheels, or (STZ) 20" front/21" rear visible carbon fiber wheels with Red stripe
All the build tools I have used in the recent past are smart enough to automatically select a package when the individual options get picked. I don't think we have enough info to really know what is going on with the OP
You would think if both the ceramic brakes and ceramic wheels were chosen, Chevy would automatically add the package so the extra $7k of adding them separate wouldn’t be a thing. I am sure I am not the only one this has happened to. Hopefully my dealership can straighten it out if I am correct in my thinking.
On the Monday before my allocation hit 3000 I was looking at the workbench options with the ordering guy. For the stars and steel edition you had about six general options you could choose since there wasn’t a ton of changes you could make for the stars and steel models. One of these 6ish options was leather interior with carbon fiber wheels. The ceramic brakes were not added to my order but it is my understanding that you cannot get carbon fiber wheels without the ceramic brakes. I tried to get my ordering guy to alter my order on that Monday when I was at 2000 status but he said he was not able to alter my order (which I had learned he should have been able to change it, he just didn’t know how) as I would have changed it to the package since it was cheaper. Unfortunately my order was never approved by me before it went to 3000 status. This is why I am asking others about this before the dealership as they did not know much about corvettes and I have a lack of trust in their knowledge. My dealership does not get many allocations as it is rural and I feel like I need to take this opportunity but don’t want to pay an extra $7k do to them not ordering correctly.
Here is my sticker and screen shots of my order that was not changed so you guys can have all the info. Notice the J56 brakes were selected (along with carbon fiber wheels) but the sticker shows the upgraded ceramic brakes. I greatly appreciate everyone’s insight to this.
This doesn’t help you at all now but for future reference, there are ways to help make sure that your vehicle order goes exactly as planned. Check the dealerships paperwork in detail at multiple points/times throughout the process. When you first speak to the sales associate, again when they submit it, and yet again after the order is accepted into the system.
I’ve ordered 8 different new vehicles over the decades and never once did the car come in with or without the correct/ordered options.
My frustration with the situation was that I was called on a Thursday that I could get the allocation for the stars and steel edition and could make updates to the order once the gentleman in charge of ordering came back on the following Monday(hit 3000 status 3 days later on Wednesday). When I came in on that Monday, the ordering guy told me no changes could be made but he would try even though I was still at 2000 status. He used a previous build I had in the system at 1100 for those options( hysteria purple) when he initially placed the stars and steel order.
Yep, they ordered it wrong by not adding the package. Was it quoted with a $186,190 MSRP? If so, their mistake and I would make them stick to the original price and discount.
^^^ no question about it… When i ordered my Z06, $160k ish was the max I would spend on a build of a Z06, When you start to get into the $170k range you start thinking, well for another $25K i can get a ZR1...
Wow! Unbelievable. Well all I can say is. It doesn't surprise me. TBO, the best way to order a car and ensure you did your due diligence is to build the car out on the chevy website and have the system email it to the dealership and you can email as well. If they somehow screw it up from there, then that is on them. You absolutely have to pick the discounted codes. Plain and simple. As you can see in your build sheet its not there. It can not be changed.
From this point its going to have to be a deal made between you and dealership. They will have to eat the 7k to make it right on top of what ever deal you had with them. Wheel packages are displayed on the sticker such as such
