I bought a pair of the factory Z06 brake screens from a member here a while back. I got them mounted up last week and they look pretty good from a distance but up close there are noticeable gaps between the rocker panel and the black plastic housing. Is this normal? Is there supposed to be some kind of filler or adhesive there?

Didn't intend to but I guess I can. I mean, a gap is a gap though. Not supposed to have gaps at all, is it? I'll get a pic a little later today.
If it is a genuine GM part, then no...there should not be any gap. I have seen aftermarket variants that did not conform to the geometry of the rocker and looked like crap.
and no, "a gap is not a gap"....specifics matter if you are looking for a specific solution.
A gap could mean:
- that the screen is not fully seated or flush with the rocker created in depth gap....possible hole to small
- the perimeter in some way shows a gap suggesting suggesting distortion...poor fitting hole or screw hole placement
- does not conform to the geometry of the rocker ......like some aftermarket
