That's going to be an awfully long power lead, going from the very back of the car to the front, under the bonnet.
Ya know those "jump-start" posts? I'd connect a short power lead to those, then plug/unplug from there. It's already under the bonnet, so "cracking" the bonnet open shouldn't trigger a lamp illumination.
Those jump-start posts will feed the battery using the existing wires.
This is what I did with my Z.

The battery in a C6 ZO6 or a 427 vert is in the back of the car, my CTEK came with a pigtail that connects directly to the battery & a quick disconnect about a foot away from the battery, I leave the trunk lid slightly ajar & just leave the power wire & charging unit lay on the garage floor. When I take the car out, I simply disconnect the quick connect in the trunk & drive it away
