Picked up this 1984 C4 Corvette in a trade (Slip for Slip) for my 2017 Harley Street Rod, and honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting into at first. The car’s definitely been through a few hands and has a mix of custom work, homemade fixes, and upgrades, but the more I dig into it, the more interesting it gets. What started as “just an old C4” turned out to have an L98 Tuned Port Injection swap, a real ZF6 6-speed transmission conversion. Interior is surprisingly clean, minus a minimal rip in the driver's side seat, and the digital dash still works, but needs polarizing film replaced.
So far, I’ve been sorting through wiring gremlins, headlight issues, fuel delivery problems, and trying to figure out exactly what parts came from what years. Swapped on newer C5 wheels and tires already ($400 FB steal), and the car rides way smoother than before. The goal is to keep the 80s vibe alive while tightening the whole car up mechanically and cosmetically instead of turning it into some overdone modern build. just want to rip corners and enjoy every shift! Looking forward to learning more about these cars, especially mine, and documenting the process as I go.
