Default Buying a C6 vs C7, part availability

I am looking to buy a C6 or possibly a C7.

I will be doing repairs, maintenance myself. Are there any C6 parts that are rare that may need to be replaced? Electronic parts perhaps? I was looking to buy a 2008 or newer. Any advice? Is there enough engine bay room to do work? Should I get a C7 instead?

I have a 2009 C6 and a 2016 C7. I maintain both myself and haven't experienced any problems finding parts for either. There are numerous Corvette salvage websites that can supply parts that can't be sorced new. The magnetic shock control module failed on my 2009 last year and I found a used replacement online after searching for a few minutes.

Agreed. It's a non issue for both. The bigger difference is that the C7 is less reliable by q fair margin.

The C7 has more electric/ electronic parts that can fail but that wouldn't stop me from buying one, which body style do you like better?

Agree with the others, especially @FAUEE comments. The C7 has a lot more potential issues than the C6, but none are insurmountable. It all depends, do you like Corvette rear ends or Camaro To me, the C6 is the perfect balance of raw muscle with reliable tech ending an era. I test drove the C7 with the intentions of buying one, but it just wasn't for me. Best wishes on your hunt.

I have to say it again-I can't get past the C7 rear end. The C6 rear end is instantly recognizable.

Be aware you are going to get biased answers toward the C6 here, go to the C7 sectiion and pose the same question to get the other side.
