I reach the annual calendar countdown for oil change on my 24 Z06 before the mileage countdown.
Took it to my dealer last week for the second oil change and now the app is saying 58% oil life remaining.
Why wouldn’t I start at 100% oil life and have it go down by ~8% per month until 12-months has passed again?
Did the dealer reset the OLM? If yes, OLM can glitch. Just reset it since it was done last week. If not, same solution, just reset it.
The car and app were reporting 0% before the dealer visit, so they must have reset it. Maybe I’ll keep any eye on it and report back if 58% changes significantly. I will likely reach 12-months again before mileage limit, so I don’t need the OLM to be precise.
It's probably fixating on the mileage target. Since you're not putting a lot of miles, it'd probably go down pretty slowly from there on. I frequently change my transmission fluid due to track use, and it drops back targeting that 7500 or 22500 mile maintenance the next day..
The OLM isn't flawless. I had mine freeze in the 50% range for 3 months last year. Took it the the dealer and there was no resolution from GM tech. Decided to use my first free oil change and it's worked as expected since then.
