I became a member here when I bought a ‘92 vert three years ago. I was planning on buying an E55 AMG, but since I couldn’t find a nice one I settled for a C4 to use over the summer instead - which I did and sold it in the winter. Finally found a dream spec E55 and had it for 18 months, but sold it and bought a supercharged BMW Z4 that I also sold a few weeks ago.
Lately I’ve started looking at C5/C6’s, but finding a manual with good history and low miles for a decent price was not easy. Until a week ago when an ‘05 Z51 six speed with 69k on the clock showed up in my feed. Only problem was that I was second in line to purchase it. Fortunately for me, the seller called me the same evening and told me that if I was dead serious on buying it he would sell it to me instead since the first guy was having problems deciding on when to come see it etc.
To make a long story short - I’m now the owner of this mint condition manual C6 and I absolutely love it. The quality is a thousand times better than I expected and it’s a joy to drive. Plenty of power and an engine that loves high rpms!
Got one body colored roof and one tinted. The harmonic balancer has been done at a workshop and it has plenty of documentation.
Nice. Make sure you deal with the steering column lock. That is the only negative on the manual 05 other than the diff. If it has runflats be careful with wheel hop as it will take out the diff before you get off the throttle. Enjoy your new ride, she's a beaut.
Congratulations, Eric, that is truly a beautiful Corvette. Hope you get some good nice weather cruising in. And, while you are cruising, take and post some pictures of your beautiful car at various places in your beautiful country.
