Restarting in Sport mode isn't an officially supported C8 Stingray feature. Some early C8s would restart in Sport mode (my 2020 does) but it isn't supposed to according to the owners manual.
You need to use My Mode to have it restart in My Mode. All other modes default to Tour on restart.
How do I start the car in the Sport mode.
Now, I start the car and it is in Cruise mode.
If it doesn't, then you can't.
If you shut off in MyMode it will start up in MyMode. Otherwise, it generally will default to Tour mode through an ignition cycle, and if you are in Z-mode and exit Z-mode using the Z button, it iwll default to Tour. There have been reported instances where the car will retain Sport Mode through a ignition cycle, but there is no menu setting to "enable" that. It's just a software difference. Which is why I say, if your's does not retain Sport Mode through an ignition cycle, then you can't change that.
Huh. I have '22 pre-production. It's starts in sport mode.
That's right...its different on come cars. But there is no setting to change the way it defaults, right? It either does or it does not retain Sport mode through an ignition cycle.
That's interesting. My 21 has always maintained whichever mode I had it in when shut off...thought that was the normal behavior.
I've never heard anyone say it will retain Track Mode through an ignition cycle. Are you sure about that? My 2021 works in accordance with this statement from the 2021 manual:
"If the vehicle is in Tour or My Mode it will
stay in that mode through future ignition
cycles. If the vehicle is in any other mode, it
will return to Tour when the vehicle is
restarted."
As I noted, some have found (even in 2021 I think) that it will also retain Sport Mode through and ignition cycle. Mine does not.
But regardless, OPs question was is there a way to get it to retain Sport Mode through an ignition cycle. The answer to that is no. It either does it or does not, but there is no setting to change the way it defaults.
