Default '65 how do you read front hub casting #'s. picture

This is on my '65. Front hub still has rotor riveted to the hub.

My '65 has a nov 7 '64 built date. It was on the car when I got it 20 years ago. Hard to beleive a rotor would last so long and so many miles. 85000 miles since I got the car.

I agree with your description of that particular part number and for the years noted (63-64 front drum brakes). What I don't understand is how this hub ended up on a '65 Corvette with disc brakes.

My best guess is that this started out as a '65 with the J61 drum brakes option and then was later upgraded to disc brakes ... but this is a SWAG.

Dated a woman with a neglected 81 trans am ( 4 wheel disc brake) car... Found a drum on one of the rears.. You never know when bubba will strike.....
