MPG diff between DIC and Infotainment

MPG diff between DIC and Infotainment
I reset the tripmeter on the DIC, and monitored the DIC and the Engine info display (which shows instantaneous MPG via a blue bar). At the end of the trip, the DIC showed 25.8 MPG for a 46 mile trip. Infotainment showed an average of 26.7, and a max of 30.3. I'd assume the 26.7 avg was for the 600 miles on the car, but it varied from a high of 28.5 to 25 -during this trip-. So it could not be a 600 mile running average.
Anybody have a clue what the Infotainment MPG numbers actually mean?
