Default Temp gauge fixed

The generic O'Reilly temp sending unit read way high. I could have used a variable resister but opted instead
ordering a sending unit from Lectric Limited.
The first photo is normal driving, the second is with the engine off after 5 minutes.

Good deal. If I were you I would go to the same store and order another sending unit because you might need one in another few years and it will probably be even harder to find a compatible one then .... or at the very least you could probably sell it in 10 years and make a bundle.

I agree. I have a couple vettes that are hard to find parts for, so when I can, I stock up. Especially if they are not that expensive.

Guarantee I won't be around to replace it next time. It will be the next owners problem.

Did same thing…bought one from NAPA, pegged right away…swapped in the sensor from CC and problem solved…also have an alt temp gage installed to verify and used an IR temp gun and all three are reading same.

problem solved…
