Default removal of 80 Cargo area cover shelf

So I have done a search on the forum and found a couple of threads on removing the cargo area cover but have not found anything on removing the trim shelf or any issues people have had with doing that. The reason I ask is I have removed all 6 screws and it does not want to release from the back under the rear window. Being 45 years old I'm rather afraid to put too much stress and twisting on the fiberglass part. When removing the screws I could see fiberglass dust coming from them. I know if I break it I'm screwed as no one makes a replacement part that I have found and the ones I have see on Ebay look like they came thru the fires of hell. if anyone has any advice or knowledge I'd really appreciate it. pretty sure everyone knows the piece I'm talking about but pic just for reference

Are you talking about the the black "U" shaped lower inside rear window molding, that also serves as a cover for the security shade? If so, it doesn't look like you've removed the two corner pieces that cover where the inner window molding meets the B-pillar trim panel. The molding's not going to go anywhere with those corner pieces installed, and I can't imagine the molding is going to come out if you don't remove the B-pillar moldings too.

Looking at the Assembly Manual, it appears that Chevrolet may have installed the molding with the rear window out? It's been a long time since we parted out any 78-82's out, and I can't recall if we ever removed one with the window installed.

Below are illustrations from the Assembly Manual showing the corner pieces, and the inner rear window molding's installation.

so the picture I showed is an older one. The plates at the front corners and all screws have been removed. it's just not pulling out like I think it should. like it's stuck or something has it in a bind.

Some window adhesive oozed out and got under it.
Need to just pull it out.
Its fiberglass and actually pretty durable.
As you researched it you know either side halo panel needs to be removed to swing it out.

Well see how it goes.
I did both my 79s and both my previous 78s removing the halo panel. Just seemed less in the way and made it easier.

Well it took a little tugging as it was glued in on the driver side some, I was able to tilt it to remove it without having to remove the big hailo trim pieces which was a plus. Sanded it down starting with 60 working all the way to 600 wet. Washed it down and will spray paint it tomorrow flat black

Interesting. I was simply told years ago that it would not come out.
Just went ahead and removed a halo panel.
Maybe that guys problem was same as yours, stuck with glue and not a matter of getting it out of the car.
I used paint stripper. Flat black Rustoleum with a gun.
