Default Ferrari-luce - Not so popular?

Ferrari (NYSE: RACE) stock plunged roughly 6% to 8% following the unveiling of the "Luce," the automaker’s highly anticipated first fully electric vehicle.

I guess not everyone is as excited about all electric super cars......

Looks nothing like a Ferrari...
Based on looks, not performance, I'd buy it if we're a $70,000 Tesla or Lexus.

Huge miss on the appearance. I'm up for an EV sports car in general but I want it to look like a sports car. So far, none do, but the Luce is especially bad to me.

$550k for THAT!??! It's a product looking for customers to buy. It's simply a product that current Ferrari owners MUST buy in order to qualify for allocations for cars that they actually WANT to buy...

It's freakin FUGLY as hell. Clearly the worst looking Ferrari ever. The roundness makes me think of a Fiat 500 that's squished.

Personal opinion, but I think the Porsche Taycan is a good looking car. I wouldn't say the others are ugly, just generic and boring. But this thing is UGLY!

I think the Taycan Gran Turismo (station wagon looking thing) is GORGEOUS. And I would buy the 2nd generation (bigger battery and faster charging) it once it depreciates enough. But I'm not getting rid of our Tesla Model Y which is GOLD.

Ferrari design has been downhill since they got rid of Pininfarina as their main designer. This is gone too far. It’s ugly and not appealing at all at any price point.

Amen! And I didn't think it could get worse than that new 849 Testarossa.

Ferrari needs to go back to Pininfarina with a fat sack of money and beg for forgiveness.

The Luce is just bad on every level. It's ugly, it's not exciting, it's insanely expensive, and it's the best thing that's happened to the Mondial since it was cancelled. Ferrari should just call it the Dino Luce and get it over with.

Yup! Ferrari 458 the last V8 by them and the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta the last V12 by them. Two of the best modern day looking Ferrari cars IMO. Also two of the best sounding. Proud to say I had the F12 at one point ageless looks and phenomenal soundtrack.

While I'm not a fan of the newcar, let's take a look at this rationally.

Ferrari knows its customers. After all, its reputation and legacy is what keeps it afloat.
I hear you when you say it's not a Ferrari as we know it.

But consider this, we are looking at it from our perspective...
Perhaps they know their new, younger, wealthy customers.
People who might look at an old school Columbia V-12 front engine car, the way we look at a '64 Pontiac GTO, a Chrysler 300 Letter car, a Duesenberg SJ.....or the way your great/grandfather thought of a 1914 Stutz Bearcat.

In other words, they might know more than us.

I dont think this is a valid argument. Yes, Ferrari only survives on "badge prestige" in affluent circles, especially given their **** build quality lately (12 Cilindri I am looking at you).

But young affluent buyers still want their expensive badge prestige cars to be head turning, even the hybrids or EVs. Like the AMG ONE (hybrid), or the new all-electric LFA perhaps (though Lexus isnt exactly a badge prestige brand of course, but its certainly one of the sexiest EVs, visually anyway, announced to date). This thing is only going to turn heads when people turn AWAY from its digusting-looking ***.

What an abomination.

I'll never own an EV. But even if I DID buy one it sure as **** wouldnt be that thing, not even if I had billioaire-level cash to burn. In a world where the Evija is coming (best looks of any all-electric car ever), and even the Tesla Roadster, there is no excuse for this trash.

Hell, if the new Tesla Roadster actually goes into production (we'll see) it will look more like a Ferrari than this thing. And likely cost a fraction of the Luce's ridiculous price. Even the original roadster Tesla made early on looked far better than this (and better than the new one IMO). There's no excuse for that design language.

Last comment as far as EVs go... the Rimac Nevera already exists. Another example of how an EV doesnt have to be FUGLY and can still target the affluent youngins.

No thanks. If I’m dropping 600k on a car that ain’t it.
