FYI. A stock all iron BBC weighs 646#, complete from carb to w/p
My aluminum head, intake & w/p version 454 weighed 554# as measured
The aluminum block drops it another 80#, down to 474#
That is lighter than a 70 LT-1 at about 501# !!
I spent $13k for my complete 454 LS6 build, after I bought all the pieces
This one is way cooler!

I agree, that is one HECK of an engine and a great price for instant power if your C3 can handle it. The weight is no problem but the HP is another story. I would prefer a all aluminum 427 versus the 454 but beggars can't be choosers.
