Default Two small bolts that says N.F 8.8. Can anyone identify?

Hi I recently found two small bolts in driveway after driving out. Does anyone have an idea what part they are for? 2010 Corvette Base model automatic. It says N.F 8.8 on top of it.

Not sure about NF (which can stand for National Fine on a US bolt) but yours looks to be a metric bolt with an 8.8 hardness rating. The markings are certainly not an indication of where the bolts are installed.

Metric bolt strength is designated by a two-number system indicating tensile strength and yield ratio. Higher numbers mean stronger, harder bolts. Standard classes range from 4.6 (low-strength) up to 12.9 (high-strength alloy steel)

Tapered self-tapping threads usually indicate a body panel fastener or structure mount, where hole alignment isn't that good. The taper "corrects" this mis-alignment somewhat.

Now, an 8.8 grade isn't really going to be used for critical frame fastening, as it's fairly soft. (Unless there is a lot of tympanic vibration at the location.) Harder fasteners can loosen in these unique locations, where softer will maintain torque due to easier bolt stretch. Sorry, I kind of went into the science of metallurgy there for a minute.

They are body bolts. It's bet the heads are 10mm.

You are brilliant! You are right they are 10mm. You have a clue to which part of the body it could be from? Thanks for the help!

Don't feed my ego I'm already a big enough a**hole! Lmao
They're used in several places. They are the same bolts on the bottom rear of my front fenders.
Where did you find them?

Lol. Thank you
Most of them seem to be on the lower part of the car and in the wheel wells. I just looked and they are the same bolts on the bottom of the back bumper.
Let us know your outcome.
