Default Opinions on this rear spoiler

I have the same car with the same exhaust. Same color but with Grand Sport Wheels. . Trying to decide on a rear spoiler. BTW... a rear spoiler isn't the same thing as a wing. Seems lots of people get that confused after doing a search on this forum. lol.... I like the duckbill design but not sure if this is a little too tall. Spoiler King has a shorter one too. This is a 3m tape job which is the only way I would go. Not drilling holes in my car. I also am contemplating the matte black GS hash marks on the drivers side fender. Just a few personal touches.

I will answer for almost everyone here.....

a) Hate it
b) Like it
c) It's your car, do what you like

I'm in the c category. For the one in your pic. For me it's too tall.

My personal opinion on these things is that I prefer stuff to be mostly stock looking. I do like some tuner cars, like when Shelby does stuff to the Mustang, but even sometimes they go too far (like making the front fenders carbon fiber). The thing I often dislike about aftermarket spoilers is that they often do not follow the body lines and contours appropriately. The later C4s have more rounded moldings, rather than the squared-off ones from the earlier C4s. So, at least in my opinion, it doesn't match the styling.

There are a lot of OEM designs that go from outrageous to subtle, but that match the styling of the car. For example, Pontiac Fiero spoiler:

Or the more subtle spoiler that Ford offered on the HPP/High Performance Package version of the Crown Victoria from 2002-2008.

In either case, these spoilers matched the aesthetics of the car in contour and shape. They did not necessarily stand out in stark contrast, which may or may not be desired.

I'd also ask for what purpose. Is it just for style, or are you looking for something purpose built... like to keep the car planted. The Corvette is obviously RWD, so a spoiler makes sense. I always get annoyed when I see a Civic with a massive wing, which clearly does nothing for the car's handling on a road course.

I also think if you're going to get something like that, it needs to be proportional to the car... so you would likely also want to get a chin spoiler as well so it looks complete, and not like you went to Pep Boys' chromed plastic section.

Just my opinion. In about 10 minutes, someone will come in and say, "It's your car, do with it as you wish." And he would be right... but if it's to make the car more appealing, there's probably more people who'd prefer it stock looking than not. But I'm all about giving the car a little bit of identity.

Yea, that is the problem I am having. The rear spoiler looks better on the early C4's that weren't so rounded in the back. I like the look of a rear spoiler on the car but only at certain angles. Most of the angles it looks like a JC Whitney stick on. I had my heart set on the Targa Brace from Wild 2 Custom but they no longer make it. Actually nobody does. I knew I should have ordered one prior to the tariffs and supply chain issues.

I have one of those on my car, painted to match. I love the way it looks:
