Hey Guys
I just purchased a 2019 Grand Sport Automatic with 6,000 miles on the clock. No matter what I read about V8's going into 4 cylinder mode isn't good. Yes I have been told to get an AFM to stop the transition and also take it to a shop that can re-program it out? Besides the fact that there are so many AFM plug in modules out there annd since I have one very unique car I don't want to F it up. Can you guys give me some direction?
I run a Range in my 2019 GS since it was a week old and also in my Silverado 1500 pick up, yes they are a bit more than the Amazon copies but that is just me. On the Silverado I found out it took the same Range product as the C7 vette so found one here in the forum used C7 section, you might check there.
It's all personal preference I run the AMF delete in my car when I'm driving it hard but I occasionally take it out if I'm going to just take a cruise up the highway and I'm not going to be mashing on it. GM has had this technology for a long time I think the biggest problem comes when you jump on it hard and it's in 4CYLINDER mode but that's just my personal opinion.
Another vote for Range. There are posts on here where Range stood behind their product and replaced defective units for free. That was enough for them to win my business. The only time i remove mine is in the dealerships parking lot.
