It still amazes me how terrible the search feature is on this site.
I know this has been discussed but can someone point me to OEM fluid / filters I can order? I’m at 20k miles and plan to change mine early.
I have the quick jacks so will be a little tight be very doable.
Genuine gm filters can be found on rockauto and amazon for a lower price than dealer. Be careful as amazon also has some non GM ones.
as for fluid you can also get from Rockauto. Some stay with the gm dct fluid while others have had great luck valvoline dct which is 25% or less than the price of gm fluid.
i also have a quick jack and replaced my dct filter with gm filter at a few thousand miles. Fairly easy to do. There is a youtube video of a guy who has a stingray changing his transmission fluid - same steps as a z.

thank you, I forgot to check rock auto. I look for the video, might be the same guy that showed how to cut an access door in for the DCT filter. I did that and it really came out professional looking.
All these are listed in Rockauto.
The metal drian plug and the engine oil filter cap get torqued to 18 lb-ft.
The 4 torx screws that retain the transmission filter cover get torqued to 53 lb-in.
Save all your receipts in the event you need to show for warranty purposes that you performed maintenance on the car.

You're supposed to remove the engine undertray prior to changing the trans filter, not cut a hole in it.
Good reason to ignore 50% of that you see on YouTube because it's created by morons who lack mechanical common sense.

Uhum...... ahh the shear plate you are referencing is secured to the chassis with 34 high strength fasteners. The two factory cutouts are radiused with a 90 degree lip to absorb stress distortion and to prevent stress cracks from forming. Gee, it almost looks like this plate once bolted in place becomes a structural member of the chassis. I don't know, but I would never compromise the integrity of a structural part. But, then again, what do I know......

youre referring to two different things. The access cut in panel is for the DCT filter change. Not the main trans filter as part of the full fluid change.
