Remove A/C lines into STV on '64 Coupe Factory
I am working on my '64 factory A/C 327/300 to convert to R134A. I have two big lines fittings that I need to disconnect. I wonder any of you have removed them before? First line is coming from the top of the evaporator and into top of the STV (as you can see in pic below). The second line is the low pressure line from back of compressor horizontally into the side of the STV. I tried to use 1" crowfoot but that was a little small. I think I need to get 1 1/16" size. Am I correct? Also is it best to use a ratchet with this? I will spray CRC freeze off first and light tap the fittings before attempt with crowfoot. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the size of those fittings. Just to share for future readings, I decided to take the big fitting line from the evaporator to the top of the STV first. I used my right hand to hold the ratchet with the crowfoot wrench (no extension). I lined up the handle of the ratchet around 4 o'clock to give me about 2 inches space before I hit the back of the compressor. Of course, I could remove my compressor first to give more space but I remove it afterward. After I sprayed twice the CRC Freeze Off and light tap the fittings (like a shock), the fitting came loose. I make sure my left hand hold the pipe from evaporator and the body of the STV. Once I got this off, the STV is completely loose because I already disconnected the three smaller lines to the side body of the STV.
Now I have only the line coming from the low side of the compressor. I used the same 1 1/16" crowfoot wrench and ratchet on the fitting side and use like channel lock to hold the body side of the STV. This came loose easy after CRC Freeze Off sprayed.
I need help from members on the STV. Below picture shows three small lines that I took off from the STV. I know which lines I have to reconnect.
However after I cleaned the body of the STV, I noticed there are two small holes on the other side that look like something screw into them (may be fittings from lines?). I looked in the supplement guide on pictures of the STV and didn't see any information on these two lines. Do any members have knowledge on these? Thank you.
