I, of all people, hate to make another underbody air deflector thread. But while reading through the new 2027 Owners Manual, I saw this interesting tidbit.
It looks like they may be standard going forward on all LS6 equipped engines.
installed a set of these air deflectors last December. They do make a difference in engine compartment temp while the car is being driven. Once parked the temp does go up but not as high as before the deflectors were installed. The trunk temp still remains too high.
Funny how Josh Holder said there is ABSOLUTELY <emphasis added> no benefit to them <air deflectors> unless you have a European c8 with the particulate filter, and yet here they are.

It would be interesting to hear Josh's response on why they are installed on 6.7L cars.

Cobbled this together with reflective duct insulation cut to fit (sort of).. Don't know if it helps to keep the temp down much but figured it couldn't hurt.
I don't think these are going to be factory installed. The info in the 2027 manual is under "Track Events and Competitive
Driving" and states "underbody air deflectors SHOULD always be installed". So they are reccomended for track use but not included from the factory, as I understand it.

They may be like Z51 rear brake ducts that are provided but should only be installed during track use. Or it could be that they are factory installed but are susceptible to damage so they are required to be inspected/installed for track use.

The way it’s phrased is different than the rear brake ducts, which tell you to install them prior to a track day. This asks you you to inspect and replace if damaged so I have a feeling that they’re standard issue.
Hot climate cars have them from factory so I imagine they’re not as damage prone as the brake ducts.

I haven't seen any hot climate cars that don't have GPFs that have the deflectors installed. I.e., Saudi Arabia and Australia.
There was a post from someone in Germany that tracked his car and said he and other C8 owners had damaged their deflectors and replacements were unavailable at the time (possibly because people in the US were purchasing them all).
Under the brake ducts section - After any track event or competitive driving, remove the rear lower control arm cooling ducts. These parts are for track use
only. Removing the ducts helps prevent debris from being channeled into the rear brakes during regular use of the vehicle.
Here they mention the ducts are for track use only and removing the ducts helps prevent debris from being channeled into the rear brakes during regular use of the vehicle.
There is no mention of removing the air deflectors after track use or anything about debris if you keep them installed.

Living in the southern US and exposed to extreme driving conditions it's about time GM included this effective and simple upgrade.
Southern temps in many areas of the US can be just as brutal as seen in Saudi Arabia and Australia. My oem deflectors/ducts are permanent year round.
where can i locate a pdf of the 2027 owners manual? i have order number for a 2027 sting ray. awaiting allocation for acceptance for production .

this helps while driving but does little after the car is parked. the heat absorbed by the body and the exhaust components will keep raising the temperature as there is no air flow to remove the heat. This heat soak has added 30 - 40 degrees to my trunk floor once parked, upping the temp to almost 130 F. I removed all the carpet and put the foil backed insulation against the body panels and put insulation on both sides the removable bulkhead panel.

I haven't done this on either of my C8s, but have been considering it for the GS coming. I will most likely use Dynamat [even though it is more expensive] thinking it may do better than hardware store material.
Did you make provisions to access the area for air filter replacement?
