Yesterday my 2005 C6 suddenly displayed a warning saying my left front tire was flat. I drove back home and checked the tires. Most were measuring 26 PSI so none were flat. The doorframe label says they all should be 30 PSI. I drove away on my drive and the error did not return. Later in the day I pumped them all up to 30 PSI.
Any ideas as to what caused this warning? Is 26 PSI low enough to trigger it?

26 psi is on the cusp of setting the iow pressure alarm. Once the tire warms up, the pressure will rise a bit to clear the alarm.
30 psi should be the lowest "cold" tire pressure that you should maintain for better tire wear.

Thanks much! I was a bit worried I had a beginnings of a bad module like the BCM.
FLAT TIRE warning when below 5psi and will trigger MAX SPEED 55MPH and REDUCED HANDLING nannies.
The sensors go through the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) and if it was acting up you should get a SERVICE TIRE MONITOR message, not FLAT TIRE
I believe TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors) contain an internal battery. They don't last forever. If you get the Flat Tire message again on the same wheel it is probably a bad sensor which would need to be replaced (might s well do all four at the same time, too).

Thanks. I know that is costly and I probably should have had that done when my tires were replaced last October.
