Last week, we took out our GS vert out for the day, drove a few hundred miles out in the country to a golf course not far from Dixon, IL for 18 holes of golf, then to White Pines State Park for dinner, then back home. After dark, we get 700 feet from home, driving 25 miles an hour when a raccoon runs in front of the Vette. I hit the brakes hard but still made contact. The critter ran off leaving my fog light flopping. All those miles and I just couldn't quite make it home without incident. A very thorough inspection concluded that there was no other damage. I bought a new fog light off eBay for under $55. It arrived 2 days later.
I know how to replace the fog light (through the fender) because I had it out once before for what I had hoped was a permanent repair on the previously broken off two upper plastic pins that I drilled, tapped, screwed-in and glued in threaded rods. I bought the car with that fog light flopping, now it flops again. Time for a brand new replacement.
Here is the fog light. There isn't much to those two plastic pins, leaving me to wonder, why they are made so fragile. The mounting is deficient regardless. GM should have screwed/bolted on the fog light along the top like they did along the bottom.

Not speaking to the light, rather to the raccoon. I'm not at all surprised it ran off after getting hit. When I was around 16, I hit one at about 60-70 MPH and that tthing tore up the pan under the front bumper, got up in the ditch and ran off. I've also unloaded a 22 rifle into one and though it slowed it down, it didn't kill it. Had to get the 12 gauge shotgun out of finally put it down (you can do that when you live in the county). They are tough beasts to kill.
