Default We got the '66 running but two gauge problems.

The temp gauge is not working. I put in a new sending unit but no help. I have a temp gauge from one of those old three gauge units from the old days as a spare.

The fuel gauge isn't responding. We put in a new gas tank and sending unit. Man, I'd hate to have to drop that tank again.

Hep!

For the fuel gauge if you ground the sender lead either at the tank or at the gauge does it go to empty? For the temperature gauge, if you ground the sender does it go to hot? Both of these require +12 volts from the ignition on the gauge terminal that is not connected to the sender. Thet also require that the gauge mount stud be grounded. Check that and report back. "Not working" doesn't really tell anyone all that much. We are the readings and when?

On a 66 both of those gauges are supplied 12 V from the fuse box. the battery gauge and the oil gauge are not so the first thing I would do is check the fuse. It's marked "gauges" and verify that you have voltage. It's the top fuse and it also supplies the voltage for the back up lamps.
