Can’t burn rubber, feels a little down on low end power
Hey everyone, first post on here, I have a 1988 L98 with 85k miles and it seems to not have enough guts to do a burnout, brake standing also doesn’t work, the only time it will burn any rubber is if you haven’t been driving for a long time and the tires are not heated up all the way, just seems a little down on power, I’ve changed the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and fuel filter, I’ve checked fuel psi and it’s good (around 36-38psi idle and 45 on rev) doesn’t lose its prime right away, after an hour after shutoff it only goes down about 5-10 psi, it runs and drives great it just doesn’t seem like it has the grunt that it should, has 275/40r17 on it and it’s an auto with the garbage 2.59 gear. It’s also not on a sticky tire, just an all season tire. Car is stock other than catless exhaust with no mufflers and a 3 inch mid pipe.
Also another thing I’d like to know is why it has a long cranking problem after it’s warmed up, starts up great when cold.
