2027 C8 is 2nd on my list of cars I want to purchase for next spring. Today thought I would stop by the local dealer and look at one and talk about price and find out how the "fit" was. Heard plenty of horror stories about how hard it was to get in and out of one of these so was feeling awkward.
Opened the door, sat down sideways, twisted 90 degrees and boom, inside and comfortable. Getting out was similar. Twisted to the left, grabbed onto the door and stood up. I am 5'10, 73, wear size large shirts and 36 inch pants and back and neck isn't in the best of health. Roof panel was on the car as well.
C8 is still #2 on my list but at least I know it isn't a bitch to get in and out of.
One hurdle over with.

This is how I get in and out of my C5, and how I handled it on the one C8 that I have driven so far.

Go back and try it where you don't open the door all the way. Guarantee this will happen more than you expect (for example, narrow parking spaces or a tight garage space.) It's still doable, but with more contortions involved.

That is actually most of the time. If you park beside another car in any parking lot, you can rarely open the door past the second detent.
My driveway is walled and I have to park to one side to even be sure to get it to open to that 2nd one. I imagine it's the same in a garage whether you park on the left or right side of a 2 car garage.
My first few months were spent scarping my foot on the front of the door or banging shins, My version has Seat Entry and Exit Memory when you open the drivers door. I set seat position to move as far back as possible, as high as possible and tilt the seat front down. When I get in the seat moves to my driving position. I have not noticed entry/exit since and now use no special gymnastics.
For me... I open the door and sit my **** on the door sill, outside of the seat. I strategically place my hands and lift my butt up and directly over the seat surface. I then carefully lower myself down into the seat's center, not brushing across the seat's bolsters. Dragging/rotating your butt across the bolsters will ultimately damage the bolster's manufactured leather. At 260lbs my methodology is the exact reason my 2020 C8's 6 year old seats still look like new. After owning 8 Vettes over the years and destroying many seat bolsters I learned this "less destructive" method to enter my plastic fantastic rides...
I put my right foot in and plop my *** in the seat and be sure to duck my head. Then I rotate and bring in my left foot.

Biggest issue for me is in parking lots where I can't get the door opened enough/all the way. My C7 was easier.
Where the door can’t be opened enough I just dive in head first, no problem. FL garages are tight as well, I have 3 cars in a 3-car garage and it’s really tight so the head first works well.

That is the only way I can get in and out and always scuff the bottom part of the door......I was considering a Superformance GT 40 and could get in the same way but had to crawl out on my hands and knees......no way.... maybe I should add I am 86...

Definitely want to make sure you can get in when the door only opens partial. It will happen, out and someone parks nearby, does not even have to be outrageously close.

Yep happens when time I park in our 3 car garage! My Street Rod is parkered to the left of the C8. I also move somewhat left when I pull in to give my wife more room to open her SUV door.
I was worried about the C8 door "Bird Beak" hitting the Street Rod. BUT turns out the door bottom fits OVER the running board. But can't open the driver's door all the way. Best is one notch in from Max. I have a pad to protect the Street Rod door just in case. It mostly goes only to a few shows each year. Made thin bracket to hold it that slips along side the street rod window.
I could park in the middle of a field and walk half a mile to shop, and invariably when I came back some doofus will have parked right next to me. It's like Vettes are car magnets!!!!!
