I have a question for those who have a ZR1 in their garage. It relates to the venting in the front hood. From the outside it looks list there is one big vent with two thin body colored bars running front to back dividing the vent into three sections - a small left, a big center and a small right.
When you open the hood, it looks like these vents are fed from 3 separate ducts - a small left, large center, and small right. I get that the center is tied to the backside of the intercooler heat exchanger, but what are the small left and rigtht ducts connected to. In other words what is venting out of the left and right sides of the ZR1 hood?
The left and right smaller ducts next to the center radiator flow air to the front brakes and do not route under the front hood (I am guessing you already know this). When you open the hood obviously there is a large opening aft of the center radiator and vents up through the middle mesh opening in the hood.
There are two smaller openings under the hood left and right of the larger opening, these “appear” (I did not design the car) to vent air from the left and right radiators in the front of the car. The air from these radiators looks like it can vent into the wheel wells directly aft but also up and through the smaller left and right mesh vents in the hood.
Any chance you can post a picture of the smaller driver's side duct looking down through the hood and then one in looking down into that duct with the hood open?
