Went to lunch with some people after church and parked in the boonies with no other cars anywhere close. Came out to find this.
Right above the LR tire. The scumbag pulled next to me facing the wrong way. Had he parked correctly his car would have been ahead of mine and to the left. He hit my car with his driver door as I looked at where the door would open to, and there was a slight scuff mark on his door edge. Here's the offending POS....
Five years of doing my best to take care of my '16, trying to avoid crap like this and along comes some loser that cares about nothing. Going to a good body shop tomorrow to see what it'll take to fix it. People suck.
Man thats awful.
i would be tempted to give his door a good heel of my shoe thump but looking at it, he'd never notice it.
Years ago i was sitting in my old car (not my Vette) and a lady pulled up next to me and when she got out she threw her door open so hard it hit my car and made the whole car shake.
i got out and politely asked her to be more careful the next time she parked and she started screaming at me like a lunatic saying i was trying to "scam" her. I just walked off.
People really do suck.

That really sucks! Sorry that happened to you, I hate disrespectful people that don’t give a **** about other people’s property. Don’t understand why people have to park right next to you when they see how far away you parked. That means stay away I don’t want anyone to park next to me to give me a door ding or hit my door. Good luck with the estimate
Someone in are corvette club parked his vette next to my C5, dinged my C5 when he was getting out of his car. I got lucky, no damage. After getting bilateral knee replacements, please don’t park next to anyone. Especially when trying to get out of your vette. Good luck with the fix. Looks like a chunk taken out of the fiberglass. I hope you got his number. That’s a 1500 dollar fix.
Take some comfort that when he's retired some day, he'll probably be driving a POS like the one in the photo, not a Corvette.
Bad attitudes toward other people can make a big difference in your life.
It will save you many bucks, if you can remove the fender and take it to a good custom body shop. I had a similar scratch on my fender, fixed it and let the body shop paint it. Not that complicated, just lots of screws.
I see now it's the rear fender. Once the rear is off, not that hard to remove the fender. I changed the rear reflectors to brake lights, not a bad upgrade as long as you are there.
This is where a valve stem removal tool comes in handy. Simply remove cap, unscrew valve stem, reinstall cap. Leave valve stem on driver door handle as a present.
Drive away having sweet and highly inconvenient revenge.

I hate people like that, you can tell they're a truly terrible person because they not only did and and said nothing, but even left their car parked there. Not even trying to hide what they've done.
And you even took the step to park far away from everyone else to keep this exact type of thing from occuring.
I thought I was going crazy. I just saw this post on another forum (Glocktalk). I had to go back to see if I was right and sure enough, there it was. Man, that sucks about some dirtbag hitting your car. I bet you are like me (and most of us on here) in that you are very careful when you open your car door if you are parked next to another car. I hope you are able to get that rascal to pay for the repair. Good luck and keep us posted. By the way, very nice-looking Shark Gray Corvette.
