C6 Corvette ZR1 & Z06General info about GM’s Corvette Supercar, LS9 Corvette Technical Info, Performance Upgrades, Suspension Setup for Street or Track
I took my '07 Z06 out of storage and noticed an issue when braking. There's a pounding feeling when I apply the brakes. The frequency of the pounding does not correspond to wheel speed. It seems to be the same frequency regardless of speed, but the intensity is greater with higher speeds. The strange thing is I don't feel anything in the pedal and the car brakes fine (no diving left of right). I checked the rotors and I don't see any rust from sitting. Also, I didn't throw any codes, but I only drove it a couple miles. It drove fine when I put it in storage last year.
Did you notice a message on the D.I.C. that the ABS or traction control system was actuating while you were feeling the pounding? Did you try switching the Traction Control/ABS off using the button on your console? What was the result? Maybe you have a bad wheel speed sensor.
I have had pretty good luck using a Topdon Phoenix Lite 3 scanner, which gives a pretty good look at all of the computers including the BCM on our cars. That being said, even it will not perform all of the functions of a Tech2. As an example, I replaced by Brake Pedal Position Sensor, which requires a calibration once installed. Although the Topdon Phoenix said it could do this, it would not do it, so I had to find a Tech2 to take care of recalibration.
Yesterday I ordered a Foxwell NT726. According to their tech. support it should do everything I need it to do for the Z06 ABS and a few other cars I have. Hopefully, they’re right.
