FS: 69 onward C60 Air Conditioning Cowl Vent Actuator Door Assembly
When this door is open, outside fresh air from the plenum can enter the AC system. When closed, the air is recirculated from the interior of the car via the air intake grille at the passenger kick panel.
This assembly consists of:
* 69 - 82 Cowl Vent Actuator Door, black plastic
* Mounting Bracket, metal
* 69 - 81 Vacuum Actuator
* Qty 2 Hex Nuts to attach the Vacuum Actuator
* Short Vacuum Hose
* Metal Clip that attaches the Short Vacuum Hose to the Vacuum Actuator
* Pass-through Vacuum Connector at the metal bracket. Allows the Short Vacuum Hose to be attached to the main Vacuum Harness in the car.
This complete assembly was removed from a C3 Corvette in a scrapyard in ~1980. Has been stored in a dry indoor location since then.
Believe this item came from a 69 Vette and will fit later years of the C3. Selling in "as is" condition.
Asking $82
Available for inspection and pick up in Los Altos, CA 94024. For shipping to a lower 48 US state, add $8
Please see other recent Altos_Guy threads for various C3 items being sold.

Yes I can answer your question, which was: " However, I didn't/don't see how to add the flapper/diverter valve to the plenum. I've got the vacuum actuator and door in the kick panel installed and looked in the AIM but can't figure out how to add the plenum valves. Mind sharing how did you do it?"
Answer: the C3 cars with C60 AC have an additional fiberglas panel at the passenger side of the cowl. GM calls this a "Plenum Filler Panel". It is bonded to the fiberglas body with fillets of a hard bonding material. In this panel there is a approx rectangular hole for the Cowl Vent Actuator Door. The bracket of the Door bolts to this Plenum Filler Panel.
In my case, I removed one of these Plenum Filler Panels from a scrap Corvette when I removed all the other C60 parts that I needed. The boding material is brittle and it was a bit of a pain to do the removal of the bonding material without damaging the item.
Since this Plenum Filler Panel is not present in Heater only cars, there is no impediment to the air flow from the cowl to the "Astro-Ventilation" on the passenger side.
I could not find a photo of this Panel, but I did find a diagram of it in a 70 Corvette Assembly Manual. It is attached to this post.
So I guess the answer to your question is that a "Plenum Filler Panel" from a scrapyard must be added to the car.
Thanks again, and sorry to sidetrack your thread. GLWTS!
