I have a 2005 Corvette with an electric top. Recently, when I opened the top, I noticed it got stuck halfway and proceeded to squirt some fluid onto my face. After a taste test, I was able to confirm it was hydraulic fluid, which seemed to be coming from the hydraulic lift cylinder.
I will show a picture from the internet below. Is this leak definitely a lift cylinder problem, or could it be the solenoid/motor?
IF cylinder's *confirmed source* of leak, likely bad cylinder.
Cylnder seals can & do dry out, when they do they leak.
Happens all the time w/ heavy equpment hydraulics, no difference between cylinder function.
Be the first thing examined before going deeper, like motor etc.
